Experience SA represents the South African tourism industry's evolution to the Internet. It takes into account the needs of tourist, tourism service providers and multimedia/GIS data providers. Data and service providers can publish their data through Experience SA servers, containing the data they wish to make available to the tourism industry. Site masters can retrieve and acquire the data they need by accessing the servers and include them in their applications.
Starting points of the project are requirements collected during the Experience SA activities, results of the market study performed in the same project and the Experience SA system itself. Experience SA specific objectives are:

• To build the Experience SA Client;
  
• To build the Experience SA Server;
  
• To validate the Experience SA client/server architecture through the development of a pilot application.
